Vony Randrianonenana — Madagascar

Vony Randrianonenana is the founder of Clair de Lune Madagascar. A non-profit she established in 2016 to promote social and economic inclusion by extending support to disadvantaged social groups across Madagascar. Vony started the organization in response to the multiple challenges Madagascar faces which includes environmental pollution and degradation, poverty and food insecurity, gender inequality, and climate change.

Alongside a dedicated team of 50 volunteers, her organization spearheaded numerous community development and awareness projects including youth development, women empowerment, human rights, education, leadership and entrepreneurship, infrastructure upgrades and rehabilitation of public schools and libraries, civic education and governance, and environmental protection programmes. Her work reached over 3000 people since its inception and captured the interest of the media in Madagascar. Vony receives support for her work from several organisations including the European Union, Malagasy diasporas, and businesses operating in her community.

She attributes her communication, advocacy, leadership, and fundraising skills to the YALI RLC SA training which she says helped her create one of Madagascar’s most vibrant civil society organisations.
