YALI Alumnus Michael Chauya Walker raises funds for COVID-19 resources…
Michael Chauya Walker is a YALI RLC SA Online Cohort 8 Alumnus from Malawi and the founder of People Matter Organisation. Michael knows about the challenges faced by children living on the street because he was once one of them. He started People Matter Organisation in 2015, to support homeless children by sending them back to school and providing them with resources such as food, clothing and education material. With the COVID-19 pandemic, living on the street with no preventative resources poses a high risk of contracting the virus. In response, Michael through his organization embarked on a fundraising campaign to purchase reusable face masks and hand sanitizers for over 70 children. Michael is calling on you to donate either financially towards procuring adequate resources or to donate resources to support the children throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
